For a long time I didn’t give my identity much thought.
When I thought of my future and what I wanted out of my life, I focused on goal setting (coupled with plenty of numbing strategies đ).
One-year plans.
Five-year visions.
Vision boards filled with images of the life I wanted.
And yes â many of those dreams came true. Looking back through old journals, I feel pretty darn proud.
But to my surprise, the real shift happened when I changed the question.
Instead of asking, âWhat do I want to achieve?â (and striving to accomplish my list)
I began asking, âWho am I becoming?â (wow! bingo! huge! I still blink in amazement at the transformation)
I started to look deeply into my identity, how I saw myself and how I wanted to evolve my identity in the future.
That question gently rearranged everything.

The Quiet Power of Tiny Shifts
So much of our daily life runs on patterning.
From childhood onward, we absorb experiences like sponges. Our incredible brains turn repeated thoughts and behaviours into habits. These patterns save us energy and help life flow â imagine having to consciously think about how to pick up a cup or turn on a light switch every single time.
Habits are a superpower đŞ
But hereâs the shadow side:
Much of this happens outside our awareness.
The habits we repeat either nourish our wellbeing⌠or quietly reinforce what keeps us small. Either way, our habits create our identity.
When we bring awareness to our patterns, we reclaim choice.
And when we reclaim choice, we begin to consciously shape who we are becoming.Â
Pause for a second and ask yourself “who am I becoming?”.
Radical Self-Acceptance: Where Change Truly Begins
For me, transformation didnât begin with pushing harder.
It began with radical self-acceptance.
Becoming deeply honest about where I was â without judgement.
Without harshness.
Without the inner critic running the show.
I stopped asking:
âDo I have the house, the car, the life?â
And started asking:
âAm I becoming the person I truly want to be?â
From there, I:
⢠Clarified my values
⢠Accepted my starting pointÂ
⢠Began small, intentional daily shifts
⢠Chose habits my future self would naturally embody
Not dramatic overhauls.
Not perfection.
Just consistent, conscious steps.
Over time, identity evolves.
We become the sum of our repeated thoughts and behaviours.
We are not fixed beings.
We are living, breathing works of art.
Letâs Get a Little Sciency for a MomentâŚ
When we repeat a thought or behaviour, neural pathways in the brain strengthen.
The brain is designed for efficiency and it naturally wires together what we practice. This is called neuroplasticity â our capacity to reshape the brain through repeated experience.
Small, consistent actions literally change the structure of the brain.
Add creativity and reflection into the mix, and something powerful happens. Art-making activates multiple regions of the brain at once â emotional, sensory, cognitive. When paired with intention and awareness, it becomes a gentle but profound rewiring practice.
And that is why I started facilitating Inner Artistry – a 6 week group work for adults. (art therapy with a difference).
We are not just âthinking differently.â
We are wiring differently.
And that is incredibly empowering.
Inner Artistry – blends spiritual art therapy, meditation, ceremony, and neuroscience in a grounded, supportive way.
This is about self-discovery.
Reflection.
Awareness.
Reclaiming authorship of your life.
No art experience required.
A Small, Supportive Art Therapy Group
Classes are intentionally small.
This allows for depth, safety, connection, and genuine support. The groups will be made up of proactive, self-aware individuals who are ready to grow consciously and compassionately.
There are just a couple of spaces remaining.
Is Inner Artistry Calling You?Â
This is a fit for you only if:
⢠You feel ready for change â but not through pressure or self-criticism
⢠You want to understand your habits at a deeper level
⢠Youâre curious about rewiring old patterns
⢠You long for more intentional, conscious living
⢠You want face to face Hobart based community alongside your growth
